Dear Parent or Guardian,
Greetings! During the month of January starting on January 3rd, your child will be
participating in snow shoeing during their physical education class. If the
temperatures remain at a comfortable level and if we get enough snow our
chances for a safe snow shoeing environment are promising.
In order for students to have a safe and successful
experience they must be dressed properly for snow shoeing. I strongly recommend
that your child brings snow pants in case they fall or get wet. The following
are ESSENTIAL: WINTER BOOTS, a
hat, gloves or mittens, jacket, snow pants and light socks.
If your child is not prepared with the essential
winter items then they can call a parent or guardian in the morning to see if
they can bring them what they need. If the student cannot get the item they
will stay in the office and read a book or do school work. Due to health issues, we will NOT be lending students hats,
gloves, mittens, neck warmers, SNOW pants and coats. Please take the time over the next week to prepare your
child for this outdoor winter activity.
While collecting the essential clothing needed please also help your
child to work on tying their shoes. The
less time we take working on being able to independently tie their boots the
more time we will have snow shoeing.
If we have limited snow or the conditions are unsafe
we will be inside working on cup stacking.
Children are welcome to bring their own equipment. They may store their snow shoes in our
storage room. The students will make sure to bring their snow shoes home at the
end of the week. Students are required to use the school’s poles since they
have the necessary safety tips.
If you would like to join your child’s class that
would be great! An extra pair of hands is always welcome. Students frequently need help with their
equipment. Please contact me at M.B.S.
if you plan on helping.
